On Saturday, Liberty faced Desert Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Liberty Lions came out on top against the Desert Vista Thunder by a score of 4-2. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on six straight.

They hit Desert Vista with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kyen Wallace (2), Logan Barron, and Luke Williams.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Desert Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cibola at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. Liberty is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season. Desert Vista will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Browne at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th.
