Baseball Game Preview: Lakeview Wildcats vs. Lamphere Rams

The Lakeview Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Lamphere Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lakeview was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Carson City-Crystal on Saturday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 9-3 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Lamphere had just enough and edged out Lake Shore 4-2 on Tuesday.

Cormick Whalen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Riddle, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Lamphere is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeview, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
