Baseball Recap: Neptune Comes Up Short

Neptune was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-2 to the Freehold Township Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Scarlet Fliers have suffered against the Patriots since April 27, 2017.

Hunter Morgan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Morgan is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Bailey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Neptune's record now sits at 0-3. As for Freehold Township, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

While Neptune had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
