Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Verrado). Everything went their way against the Youngker Roughriders on Wednesday as the Verrado Vipers made off with a 5-1 victory. Given the Vipers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Roughriders are ranked 156th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Verrado hit Youngker with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lukas Nicolls (2), Andre Galindo, Nicholas Blas, and Manny Perez.

Verrado has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5-4 record this season. As for Youngker, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Verrado wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 1-0 win against Desert Edge on the 21st. As for Youngker, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 loss against Canyon View on the 21st.
