Softball Game Preview: Southfield Christian Eagles vs. Madison Eagles

Southfield Christian will challenge Madison at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Southfield Christian and five for Madison.

Southfield Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Parkway Christian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Parkway Christian by a score of 23-22. On the bright side, the 22- run effort marked Southfield Christian's highest-scoring contest to date.

Bella Thomas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-7 with six runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Zoe Scott, who got on base in three of her seven plate appearances with one home run and four RBI.

Meanwhile, Madison fell victim to Fitzgerald and their airtight pitching crew last Monday. They lost 7-0 to the Spartans.

Southfield Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Southfield Christian got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 against Madison by a conclusive 16-2 score. Does Southfield Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Madison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
