Baseball Game Preview: Ringgold Rams vs. Laurel Highlands Mustangs

The Ringgold Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Laurel Highlands Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Ringgold's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Laurel Highlands' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Ringgold made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mt. Pleasant, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 4-2 on Monday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Rams couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ringgold got a good showing from Anthony Koziel, who didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Koziel has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ringgold saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skyler Mucci, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Laurel Highlands came up short against University on Friday and fell 5-1.

Laurel Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Ringgold, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-9 record.

Ringgold beat Laurel Highlands 3-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
