Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Makes It 25 in a Row at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Roosevelt had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 71-59 victory over the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Brayden Burries continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 50% from the field en route to 29 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. His big performance that evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Myles Walker was another key player, going 9-for-13 to rack up 20 points.

Roosevelt pushed their record up to 33-2 with the win, which was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.2 points over those games. As for Harvard-Westlake, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 31-3.

Coming up, Roosevelt will be playing at home against Notre Dame (SO) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Roosevelt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 35 contests -- so hopefully Notre Dame (SO) likes a good challenge. Harvard-Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
