Video: Baseball players attempt cheerleading stuntCheerleading isn't as easy as some athletes may believe.Members of the
Gardendale (Ala.) baseball team recently learned a painful lesson: cheerleading is extremely difficult.
Several baseball players took a rough tumble earlier this week while attempting a cheerleading stunt.
As part of an annual tradition at Gardendale, baseball players have a cheer segment during the school's fall pep rally. This year, baseball players Cade Tittle and Seth Rodgers spearheaded an idea to have the baseball players take their cheer segment to a new level.
During a rehearsal earlier this week, the players attempted a cheerleading move that did not go as planned. An apparent miscommunication resulted in three of the baseball players tumbling down to the ground on wrestling mats.
Luckily, none of the players suffered any injuries. The players will have another opportunity at Friday's pep rally to perfect their (presumably scaled down) cheer before Gardendale takes on Hewitt-Trussville in the evening.
The incident is a reminder that cheerleading is not nearly as simple as athletes in other sports sometimes believe.
