Recap: Udall Eagles vs. Argonia Red Raiders
The Udall Eagles struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Argonia Red Raiders had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Udall fell to Argonia 58-52. Udall has not had much luck with Argonia recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Udall lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jenson Harness. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 50% of Udall's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jordan Hornecker was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Argonia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Vineyard led the charge by scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vineyard has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Morrison, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Udall's defeat was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Argonia, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Udall will take on Flinthills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Flinthills is ranked 316th, while Udall is ranked 336th). As for Argonia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sedan at 7:30 a.m. on Friday.
