Basketball Recap: Glencoe Comes Up Short

Glencoe suffered their biggest defeat since November 22nd on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Sardis Lions an easy 70-44 win. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Glencoe saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kinlee Montgomery went 8 for 16 on her way to 23 points. Montgomery's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Glencoe's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Sardis, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Glencoe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-43 win against Lincoln on the 19th. As for Sardis, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Sardis Lions duke it out with the Southside Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
