Basketball Recap: West Springfield Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

West Springfield hadn't done well against Alexandria City recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The West Springfield Spartans walked away with a 71-61 victory over the Alexandria City Titans. The Spartans didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Tarik Sesay and Kyheim Johnson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Sesay dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 boards, while Johnson went 8 of 20 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those 12 boards gave Sesay a new career-high.

West Springfield's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9. As for Alexandria City, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

As for Alexandria City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-36 win against Fairfax on the 24th.
