Basketball Recap: Lordsburg Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

After losing to Cloudcroft the last time they met, Lordsburg decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lordsburg Mavericks walked away with a 61-51 win over the Cloudcroft Bears on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mavericks.

Despite the loss, Cloudcroft still got an impressive performance from Rylee Pahl, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards. That was a full 43.1% of Cloudcroft's points, marking the 11th time in a row Pahl has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Dodson, who en route to 10 points and six rebounds.

Lordsburg pushed their record up to 10-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points over those games. As for Cloudcroft, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.

Lordsburg has already played their next game, a 58-53 defeat against Mescalero Apache on the 15th. As for Cloudcroft, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-45 win against Capitan on the 20th.
