Baseball Recap: Spring Comes Up Short

After flying high against Nimitz on Friday, Spring came back down to earth. The Lions came up short against the Klein Bearkats on Saturday, falling 16-3. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Bearkats when the teams met back in May of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Spring saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Porter, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Spring has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-15 record this season. As for Klein, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-16-2.

Spring and Klein could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Lions will challenge Aldine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (838 vs. 309). Meanwhile, Klein (ranked 575th) will meet Magnolia (ranked 264th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
