Baseball Recap: Wilson Wins Going Away Against Kutztown

It's playoff time, and Wilson had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Kutztown Cougars on Thursday as they made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Patrick Lengle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Ryan Marmolejos was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jack Gabel, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple.

Wilson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.

Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Kutztown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-8.

Wilson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kutztown, they will take on Northern Lebanon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
