Soccer Recap: Ascend Leadership Comes Up Short

Ascend Leadership was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chatham Charter Knights. Ascend Leadership were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chatham Charter apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Ascend Leadership's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Chatham Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ascend Leadership will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southern Wake Academy at 3:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Chatham Charter, they will take on Cornerstone Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
