Basketball Recap: Segerstrom's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Segerstrom had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Samueli Academy Firewolves by a score of 50-43 on Friday.

Several Firewolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julian Chanelo, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Christian Coughlin, who put up nine points.

Segerstrom's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-14. As for Samueli Academy, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Segerstrom will square off against Garden Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Garden Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season. Samueli Academy has already played their next contest (against Newport Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
