Baseball Recap: Fairfax Comes Up Short

Fairfax was the 4-3 winner over La Joya Community when they last played one another back in March of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Fairfax Stampede fell 9-4 to the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos on Tuesday. The Stampede's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Fairfax saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Balderas, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Fairfax now has a losing record of 2-3. As for La Joya Community, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfax will venture away from home to challenge Willow Canyon at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Willow Canyon's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Fairfax's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for La Joya Community, they are taking a road trip to face off against Kellis at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Kellis has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.6 runs per game on average), something La Joya Community will no doubt try to take advantage of.
