Montgomery County faced North Laurel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 10-8. The win was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Montgomery County pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for North Laurel, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-2-1.

Coming up, Montgomery County will square off against Bryan Station at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 3.4, the Defenders 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for North Laurel, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-5 victory against Mercer County on the 10th.
