Christ the King kept up with Pine Lake Prep until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Pride blew past the Crusaders 7-3. Considering Pine Lake Prep have won ten games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Christ the King from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Avery Garrett led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Pine Lake Prep's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 41 goals over those five matchups. As for Christ the King, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4-1.

Pine Lake Prep and Christ the King should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Pride (ranked 26th) will meet Community School of Davidson (ranked 95th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Christ the King will take on Langtree Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (83 vs. 444).
