Basketball Game Preview: Vista del Lago Eagles vs. Christian Brothers Falcons

Vista del Lago hasn't had much luck against Christian Brothers recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Vista del Lago Eagles challenge the Christian Brothers Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Monday, Vista del Lago came up short against Rio Americano and fell 56-44. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Raiders are ranked 186th).

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Christian Brothers' good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against Inderkum, falling 85-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (57), the Falcons still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Vista del Lago and nudges their season record down to 12-10. As for Christian Brothers, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-5.

Vista del Lago took a serious blow against Christian Brothers in their previous meeting on January 7th, falling 63-35. Can Vista del Lago avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
