Softball Game Preview: Lewisburg Green Dragons vs. Warrior Run Defenders

The Lewisburg Green Dragons will challenge the Warrior Run Defenders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lewisburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Millville 22-7 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Green Dragons needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The team relied heavily on Brinley Haile, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Gutkowski, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI and one run.

Lewisburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Warrior Run entered their tilt with Muncy on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 16-1 victory. The match marked the Defenders' most dominant win of the season.

Warrior Run's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lewisburg, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-15.
