Basketball Recap: Noah Mayberry's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Shawnee over Century

Shawnee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 59-33 to the Century Centurions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redskins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-47 back in November of 2024.

Shawnee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Mayberry, who posted 13 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kyler Jewell, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Shawnee's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Century, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Shawnee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-54 victory against Joppa-Maple Grove on the 20th. Century has also already played their next contest, a 66-37 defeat against Vienna on the 20th.
