Softball Game Preview: Bethel Bees vs. Brookville Blue Devils

Bethel hasn't had much luck against Brookville recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bees will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Bethel has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bethel managed to slip by Covington the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bees came up short against the Buccs on Thursday, falling 13-1. The Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bethel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Sheen, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Brookville posted their closest victory since May 8, 2024 on Monday. They skirted past Valley View 12-10.

Rylan Eagle made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Libby Nutter was excellent, going 2-for-5 with three RBI. Maya Haydon was another key player, scoring three runs.

Brookville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Brookville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Bethel, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
