Baseball Game Preview: Lemoore Tigers vs. Hanford Bullpups

The Lemoore Tigers will take on the Hanford Bullpups at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Lemoore nor Hanford posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Lemoore's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Tulare Western hitters got past them. The Tigers came up short against the Mustangs on Friday, falling 13-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lemoore saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clinton Rhew, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Hanford's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Mission Oak by a score of 3-2.

Lemoore's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Hanford, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lemoore has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hanford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Lemoore couldn't quite finish off Hanford when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 7-5. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
