Pontotoc is a perfect 5-0 against Clarksdale since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pontotoc Warriors will head out to challenge the Clarksdale Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.

On Monday, Pontotoc needed a bit of extra time to put away Clarksdale. They had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Corbyn Clayton spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luke Blanchard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Braxton Whiteside, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Pontotoc's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Clarksdale, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
