Basketball Recap: Malibu Sharks vs. Fillmore Flashes
If Malibu was feeling good fresh off their 85-39 takedown of Community Charter on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Malibu Sharks lost 90-67 to the Fillmore Flashes on Thursday. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Flashes recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the loss, Malibu still got an impressive performance from Dylan Goosen, who went 15 of 27 en route to 35 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds. Goosen's morning made it 29 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Sulkin, who posted 21 points.
Fillmore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaime Soto, who earned 20 points and four steals. What's more, Soto also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Octavio Orozco was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards.
Malibu's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Fillmore, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.
Malibu wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 83-38 victory against Lakeview Charter on the 3rd. Fillmore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
