Basketball Recap: Jamie Wirtz Key Part of Team Effort in Grenadiers Win

Elk Grove lost to Addison Trail back in February, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Grenadiers strolled past the Blazers with points to spare, taking the game 46-30.

Elk Grove's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamie Wirtz, who posted 13 points. Those 13 points gave Wirtz a new career-high. Jaleah Blake was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Elk Grove's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Addison Trail, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Elk Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against Larkin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Addison Trail, they will head out on the road to square off against Leyden at 6:30 p.m. on December 1. This will be the Blazers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
