Softball Recap: Almeta Crawford Takes a Loss

If Almeta Crawford was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Royal last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Almeta Crawford lost 14-4 to the Stafford Spartans on Tuesday.

Maya Hanks was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Almeta Crawford's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. As for Stafford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Almeta Crawford will challenge Fort Bend Willowridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Almeta Crawford is facing Fort Bend Willowridge at the right time seeing as Fort Bend Willowridge is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Stafford, they will welcome Royal at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Royal has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.18 runs per game on average), something Stafford will no doubt try to take advantage of.
