Deposit-Hancock had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Elmira Express as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for Deposit-Hancock, who have now won ten contests in a row dating back to last season.

Addison Makowski was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Makowski was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Deposit-Hancock got a massive performance out of Sarah Gross, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI Gross has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Victoria Green, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Elmira is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Deposit-Hancock will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Abington Heights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Elmira, they will host Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
