Baseball Game Preview: Chaparral Cowboys vs. Sunrise Mountain Miners

Chaparral is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Sunrise Mountain a 14-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Chaparral Cowboys will be playing at home against the Sunrise Mountain Miners at 3:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Chaparral might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 16-1 to Pahrump Valley, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Sunrise Mountain's offense. They lost 15-0 to The Meadows School on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Miners have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Sunrise Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

Chaparral skirted past Sunrise Mountain 7-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Cowboys repeat their success, or do the Miners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
