Baseball Recap: St. Clair Takes a Loss

St. Clair dropped their record down to 4-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 12-0 to the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils. The Saints were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Grosse Pointe South, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by eight runs or more this season.

For Grosse Pointe South's part, Jack Danielewicz tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Danielewicz a new career-high.

At the plate, Adam Czarnik was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Drew Hess, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

While St. Clair had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
