Arlington is a perfect 5-0 against Liberty since March of 2025 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Lions will head out to take on the Bison at 3:15 p.m. Arlington will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Arlington barely beat Paloma Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Wildcats on Friday.
Carter Johnson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Seth Allison, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Liberty ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Moreno Valley 9-8. That's two games straight that the Bison have won by just one run.
Martin Naranjo looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brandon Ansell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Liberty is 3-1 when Ansell posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Nate Wellen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Arlington's record is now 13-8. As for Liberty, their record now sits at 8-9.
Arlington skirted past Liberty 1-0 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Bison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
