Softball Preview: Ballard Bruins vs. Madison Central Indians        
        
		
            
 The Ballard Bruins will head out on the road to  challenge  the Madison Central Indians at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Madison Central is hoping to do  on Thursday what Green County couldn't  on Wednesday: put an end to Ballard's winning streak, which now stands at nine games. Ballard was the clear victor by  a  12-1 margin over Green County.
  Rylee Carter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Carter has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Carter was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with  an  RBI.
 In other batting news, Ballard let  Kierstyn Smith and  Mikayla Milby loose on the outfield. Smith  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances, while  Milby  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Lillian Koch, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base.
 Meanwhile,  everything went Madison Central's way against Estill County on Monday as Madison Central made off with  a  15-1 victory.
 Madison Central got a  massive  performance out of  Cassidy Hack, who  went 3-for-4 with a  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs.  Andrea Linton was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run and four  RBI.
 Ballard has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record  this season. As for Madison Central, their win was  their sixth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 19-5.
 Ballard skirted past Madison Central  6-5 when the teams last played  back in March of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ballard since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
