Softball Recap: South Side Takes a Loss

South Side was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mt. Vernon-Enola Warhawks. The Hornet were not able to make up for their loss to the Warhawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

South Side's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Mt. Vernon-Enola, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.

South Side wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-7 victory against Pangburn on the 15th. As for Mt. Vernon-Enola, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-3 win against Wonderview on the 14th.
