Baseball Recap: Newell-Fonda Takes a Loss

Newell-Fonda was the 12-6 winner over Pocahontas when they last played one another back in June of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1 on Friday.

Newell-Fonda's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7-1. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.8 runs. As for Pocahontas, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Newell-Fonda will host East Sac County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pocahontas, they will take on Southeast Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
