Volleyball Recap: Seckman Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Seckman entered their tilt with Festus on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Tigers. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Seckman who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 19-25, 26-24.

Meghan Holt had an outrageously good game as she had 19 assists and ten digs. That's the most digs she has posted over her last 17 contests.

Despite the defeat, Festus had strong showings from Layla Pendergrass, who had eight digs and one assist, and Maggie Drury, who had four digs and three aces.

Seckman's victory bumped their record up to 13-3-2. As for Festus, their loss ended a ten-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-4-1.

Seckman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Timberland on the 20th. As for Festus, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against DeSoto on the 23rd.
