Recap: Ben Lomond Scots vs. Ogden Tigers
The Ben Lomond Scots suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Wednesday. Their tough 78-56 loss to Ogden might stick with them for a while. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Wednesday (55), Ben Lomond still had to take the loss.
Ben Lomond's loss came despite strong showings from Jake East and Jonathan Alcarez. East scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Alcarez scored 11 points along with three blocks. Alcarez has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played.
Ogden got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Stockton Marriott out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Marriott posted eight or more assists. Niyol Hauet was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with five assists and two steals.
Ben Lomond has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Ogden, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ben Lomond will take on Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Grantsville and three for Ben Lomond. As for Ogden, they will be playing at home against Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
