Baseball Recap: Sarasota Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Sarasota proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Bartow Yellow Jackets 1-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-4 last Friday.

Sarasota got a great performance from Blake Norman as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Norman has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Sarasota's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Patrick Drymon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Sarasota's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for Bartow, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Sarasota has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Lakewood Ranch on the 8th. As for Bartow, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 4-1 defeat against Winter Haven on the 8th.
