There's no place like home for Madera, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sanger West Hornets on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Coyotes have posted since September 12th.

Madera had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 18-25, 25-15, 25-21, 15-7.

Their offense was headlined by Destinee Avila and Mia Carlson, who picked up eight kills apiece. They were helped by Bella Haynes and Isabella Fessenden, who contributed 12 assists each. Haynes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Despite the loss, Sanger West had strong showings from Ariel Vang, who had 24 assists and five digs, and Maiya Potter, who had six digs, five kills, and three aces.

Madera's victory ended a six-match drought at home and bumped them up to 7-26. As for Sanger West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-17 record this season.
