Softball Recap: Snook Bluejays vs. Iola Bulldogs
After flying high against North Zulch last Tuesday, Snook came back down to earth. The Bluejays fell just short of the Iola Bulldogs by a score of 10-9 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-7 back in March.

Aubrey Becker put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, Braynija Pool was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Kiley Price also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Snook has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15-1 record this season. As for Iola, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.
Looking ahead, Snook will challenge Burton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Bluejays' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
