Baseball Recap: Shoemaker Takes a Loss

Shoemaker lost against Midway last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Shoemaker Wolves came up short against the Midway Panthers, falling 17-1. The Wolves' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Shoemaker saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damian Montanez-Figueroa, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Shoemaker now has a losing record of 6-7-2. As for Midway, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.

Looking ahead, Shoemaker will square off against Killeen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Killeen has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.64 runs per game on average), something Shoemaker will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Midway, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Midway Panthers face off against Temple Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. They will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
