Basketball Recap: Calvary Day Skates Past Beach with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grayson, Calvary Day was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Beach Bulldogs, posting a 62-32 victory. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Calvary Day had a senior duo take command as Destini Gooddine dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 boards and Bre Jones went 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight assists and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, Gooddine is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Amahni Owens was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards.

Calvary Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Calvary Day's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Beach, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Calvary Day will challenge Long County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season. As for Beach, they will face off against Jenkins at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
