Football Recap: Escondido Victorious

Escondido won the last time they faced Coastal Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Cougars secured an 18-13 W over the Stingrays. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Abby White threw for 99 yards and one TD. Kim Mendez was her top target, picking up 51 receiving yards. On the ground, Rebecca Rodriguez rushed for 69 yards.

Escondido's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Coastal Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Escondido and Coastal Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 467th) will meet Mission Hills (ranked 35th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Coastal Academy will face off against Santa Fe Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (700 vs. 227).
