Soccer Recap: Fivay Comes Up Short

Fivay lost against Mitchell back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fivay Falcons lost 8-0 to the Mitchell Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 109th).

Fivay's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for Mitchell, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fivay will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Citrus at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Mitchell will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Springstead at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
