Recap: Bella Vista Broncos vs. Lincoln Fighting Zebras
The Bella Vista Broncos pushed their score all the way to 60 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-60 to Lincoln.
Bella Vista lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Damian Rickett, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Rickett's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mikey Simonyan, who scored 18 points.
Roman Snyder was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points for Lincoln. Michael Neely was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds.
Bella Vista has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Bella Vista won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mesa Verde at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. Mesa Verde is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Lincoln will be home for the holidays to greet Rocklin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocklin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Lincoln likes a good challenge.
