Basketball Game Preview: South Panola Tigers vs. Grenada Chargers

South Panola is on a 17-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Grenada is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The South Panola Tigers will welcome the Grenada Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Panola knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Grenada likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, South Panola blew past Saltillo, posting a 71-19 victory. South Panola has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Grenada was able to grind out a solid win over Center Hill on Tuesday, taking the game 65-55.

South Panola better keep an eye on Carlei Brown. She was instrumental in Grenada's win, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 21 games she's played dating back to last season. Addyson White was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Grenada has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for South Panola, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.

South Panola beat Grenada 60-50 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Grenada's Lauren Harges, who posted 33 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
