Baseball Recap: Ellington Victorious

It's playoff time, and Ellington had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Griswold Wolverines on Tuesday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Tyler Dumond was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Grimes, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. Chase Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ellington's record is now 17-7. As for Griswold, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

As of now, neither Ellington nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
