Hernando is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Springstead is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Leopards will welcome the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Hernando made easy work of Central and carried off a 17-1 win.
JULIANA JETER looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, KENDERLYN HART was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was LILY JERNIGAN, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Hernando kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Springstead never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Weeki Wachee as they made off with a 16-0 victory.
Alivia Miller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Miller was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Madison Mayon looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Springstead got a massive performance out of Kaylana Lyons, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. ElleAnn Cephus was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Hernando's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Springstead, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
Hernando's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. The Leopards have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Springstead, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Hernando continue to outrun the ball?
