Softball Game Preview: Cedar Creek Pirates vs. Absegami Braves

The Cedar Creek Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Absegami Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cedar Creek's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Atlantic City with a sharp 7-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Absegami entered their tilt with Hammonton on Monday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Blue Devils.

The team relied heavily on Molly Williams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last three games.

Absegami pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Cedar Creek, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.

Cedar Creek came up short against Absegami in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 8-4. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
