It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Franklin had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Lansdowne Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Franklin got a massive performance out of Mia Cleveland, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsay Trager, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The win (which was Franklin's third in a row) raised their record to 8-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lansdowne, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Franklin will take on Dulaney on Monday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Lansdowne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
